JIANQIAN M-UE-48 FRONT OF THE SHOULDER

Location: On the anterior aspect of the shoulder joint, midway between the anterior axillary crease and Jianyu LI-15.

This point is often felt as tender on palpation.

Needling: Perpendicular insertion 1 to 1.5 cun. Oblique or oblique-transverse insertion distally towards the elbow, 2 to 3 cun.

JIANActions: Stimulates qi and blood and assists the shoulder joint.

Signs and symptoms: Rigidity and pain of the anterior aspect of the shoulder, numbness, paralysis and immobility of the shoulder joint.
