SHIQIZHUIXIA M-BW-25 BELOW THE SEVENTEENTH VERTEBRA
Location: On the midline of the lower back, in the hollow below the spinous process of the fifth lumbar vertebra.
Slide a finger upwards along the midline of the sacrum until it meets the sizable hollow inferior to the lumbar spine.
Needling: Perpendicular insertion, 0.5 to 1 cun.
Warning: The spinal canal lies between 1.25 and 1.75 cun deep to the skin surface, differing based on body build.
Actions: Tonifies the Kidneys and encourages urination.
Stimulates qi and blood and relieves pain.
Signs and symptoms: Pain of the lumbar area and lower extremities, difficult urination, fetus pressing on the bladder.
