XIYAN MN-LE-16
XIYAN MN-LE-16 EYES OF THE KNEE
Location: On the knee, in the hollows created when the knee is flexed, directly below the patella and both medial and lateral to the patellar ligament.
Lateral Xiyan MN-LE-16 is identical with Dubi ST-35.
Needling: With the knee flexed and supported by a rolled pillow, perpendicular insertion, given towards Weizhong BL-40, 1 to 2 cun. Oblique insertion in a medial and superior direction, behind the patella 1 to 2 cun. Through-needling between the lateral and medial Xiyan MN-LE-16, behind the patellar ligament.
Actions: Expels wind-damp, lowers swelling and eases pain.
Signs and symptoms: Knee joint swelling and pain, difficulty in flexing and extending the knee, weakness of the knee joint, numbness of the knee, numbness of the lower extremity, atrophy disorder of the lower extremity, leg qi.
